Music for the AM / High Five Mr. W

So in addition to not knowing anything about clothing, I am also never up on music. This morning Melanie Fiona was on the Wendy Williams show and she was RIDICULOUS. I tend not to favor R&B at all. At all. At all. BUT her voice was so unbelievably controlled in the performance, so here is the video for the song she sang "Give it to me right". This copy is a live performance she did in the UK - the official video doesn't have the same amount of vocal complexity as the live performances. ENJOY!

And although I didn't watch the VMA's, I would like to put up the Muse remote performance because I heard it was amazing and sought it out on Youtube. True to form, one of my favorite bands of all time tears it UP.

And regarding he Who Shall Not Be Named - I think it is a bad combination when someone who is convinced the world is racist (despite his raging success which has *obviously* crossed racial lines) comes to an awards show plastered and acts like no one ever taught him what it means to NOT act a fucking fool. I'm not talking about the fact that he clearly never attended finishing school or was so much as on the receiving end of a well timed pop, nor am I expecting him to know What Emily Post Would Do. But seriously, what he did is unacceptable. I could give a shit about Taylor Swift, really, but she's a KID who had a BIG moment, and if I remember correctly no one pissed on That Asshole's rainbow when he was making his presence as an artist.

Way to go, you've made me feel so much less unfashionable. While I may mix gold and silver jewelry, and am at times lax about where my bra straps are, I would never behave that way. Thanks, you provincial ignoramus.

  1. I hate him, too. He reminds me of those popular, rude kids in school that don't know shit but act like they do and act like they're more important than everyone. And people like that wouldn't bother me so much if other people wouldn't encourage them by liking them!
