Powder Blue - A Movie You Can Skip *spoiler*

So I just finished watching a movie called Powder Blue. It's got an all-star cast and a convincing box. However what ensues is the story of a stripper whose son is in a coma - he eventually dies - and whose father (that she's never met) just got out of jail, does a few nice things for her and eventually dies too. The one redeeming thing is the stripper finds love - but in the context of a dead kid and father - it falls flat.

The other story line features a man who was a priest but left priesthood to marry his wife - on their wedding day they are in a car crash where she dies. He spends the movie trying to pay people to kill him since he is so lost without her. He goes on a date with a character plays by Lisa Kudrow in the end of the movie. Big woop.

This movie was so. so. depressing. and I don't mean meaningful, or insightfully depressing. not the kind of depressing that teaches you something. it was tear jerking meaningless drivel. there was no cathartic moment, and at the end of the movie I am just angry at Timothy Bui for wasting my time.

This movie sucked more than 99.9% of movies I have seen in my life. Seriously.

  1. Thanks for the honest review, it's hard to trust the media anymore. I wouldn't believe them if they told me water was wet!
